1.Josh Sells Utility Former junior. Son of club great Stephen and grandson of Club legend Ron. Now finding himself at home in senior ranks and emerging as a club leader. Represented the GFL in interleague carnival in 2008. Has a raking left foot and pace to burn. Pin-point accuracy by foot and great work ethic. |
2. Michael Stewart Ruck/Fwd Recruited from Box Hill VFL in 2009 and won Club B&F in his first year. An athletic and versatile big man who has become one of the side's most valuable contributors. Can kick goals and will push into the forward line for extended periods this season. |
3.Josh Young Wing/Half Fwd Another junior graduate and U/18 B&F in his final year Hard working winger who runs all day and has a bullet-like foot who can spot up targets inside the 50. Consistent goalkicker who can slot them from distance as well. Improves every season.

4.Mark Flanders CHB Athletic defender who has become one of the club's leaders. Sticks to his opponents like glue and is very strong in the air where he maximises his enormous leap. Has played for extended periods in the ruck as well. Kicking out of defence is a feature.

5.James Rock
On-baller
Recruited from Geelong Falcons, James is the younger brother of Liam. He has played some early games for Geelong VFL and there is no doubting his talent. James will add class and skill to the midfield as well as being more than capable of kicking some goals as a small forward.

6.Daniel McNaughton CHB Experienced senior footballer who has been a feature in defence since he graduated from U/18s. Strong overhead and a big kick out of his defence, he cut his teeth in the Rooster backlines when still in his teens. Also able to run in ruck when required. |
7.Scott Harvey Wing/Utility Came across to the club from Bell Park in his final year of U/18s where he fitted straight in. Tireless worker who runs all day and whose fooskills are a feature. Has played a handful of senior games but in just his second year out of the junior progaram will be hoping to take the next step. |
8.Nathan Saunders Full Forward Had a storied career before arriving at West Oval in 2007. Drafted by Hawthorn before playing a season at Western Bulldogs. 100 game VFL playerat Werribee as well as Nth Ballarat. Burst onto the GFL scene with dominant performances at CHF in his first few seasons where he was almost unbeatable in the air. Will now move to the goal square and no doubt be a reliable avenue to goal. One of the Roosters best over the past decade. |
9.Tim Andrews Rover/Back Pocket Recruited to the club from Werribee VAFA U.18s and won Best First Year player in his debut season. Has slowly improved his game to a point where he is now part of the leadership group. Honest defender who can shut down his opponent and hard on-baller who can burrow in as well as clearing the ball. Dangerous around goal and tireless performer. |
10.Brydon Coles Rover Newly recruited to the club in 2010. Won the Sydney AFL Phelan Medal for league B&F at just 20 and has also been given a place on Geelong's extended VFL list. Quicksilver across the groud and quick hands. Should be an important cog in the midfield this season. |

10.Tony Calnon CHB/CHF Club veteran who continues to provide experience and direction for the reserve side. At his peak was one of the GFL's best CHF's and was named twice in the league Team of the Year. A club Life Member and one of the all-time better players. His marking a feature as well as his one-on-on duels . Reliable goalkicker and great on-field leader. |
11.Chris Arnold Wing/Half Fwd Capable of the freakish on the field and when in peak form is a valuable contributor. Has a huge leap and a huge raking foot into the forward line. Accurate kick for goal and silky smooth skills. Recruited originally from Deniliquin but has had patchy career since and now hoping for a clear run. |
12.Anthony Chirnside
Half Back
Recruited from Warrnambool for the 2010 season, Chirnside will add poise and grunt to the Rooster backline this season. An outstanding junior who captained the Hampden league under 18 side and won the competition Rising Star award he will form an important component in a new-look defence.

13.Angelo Marcantonio Utility Former star junior who won a GFL U/18 League B&F before graduating to senior ranks. Had knee re-construction last season and hoping to get amongst things early. Smooth skills and excellent by foot. Good in tight situations and smart on-field thinker who can set-up forward thrusts with pin-point kicking from defence. |
14.Sam Boyd
CHB
Another quality recruit from Warrnambool. He has completed a full pre season with Geelong VFL and his strength and composure will be valuable in a key defensive post. Sam has undergone some minor knee surgery and he will be looking to have a major impact in the second half of this season.

15.Scott Frangos Fwd Pocket/Utility Second year out of U/18s and still working at establishing himself as a senior player. Has put some muscle on but his light frame also adds to his greatest asset; his pace across the forward line. Smooth skills and able to slot goals when needed. Improving crumber. |
16.Elliot Hannan CHB/Full Back Son of Club Legend Kevin Hanann. Experienced key position player who is coming off a year on the sidelines. Extremely strong in the air and at his best when running the lines from the key position posts in defence. Plays with confidence and a feature is his relentless charge at the footy. |
17.Ben Lowery Full Forward Old warhorse who has served the club reliably for over a decade.Injuries have dogged him for most of his career but along the way he has shown that he is a reliable goalkicker and outstanding mark on the lead. Has given the reserves fantastic service over the past five years and continues to provide great leadership. |
18. Blake Rodgers
Half-Back
Another young player recruited from the Falcons. Blake is blessed with blistering pace and looks to be able to fulfil a number of roles within the playing group. Has shown he has the ability to play a defensive role on dangerous forwards but will also be used through the midfield at times this season. Looks to have a promising future and one player who trains with purpose.

19.Ben Stornebrink Utility Has been a consistent performer over the past four years since making his way down from Werribee and will play his 50th game this season. Hard, tough and versatile he is very strong in the air and his tackling is amongst the side's best. Can drift forward and kick goals or push back and run from defence.

20.Adam Morrow Half-Back/On-baller Newly appointed vice-captain who has emerged as a leader on the field by his fearless actions week in, week out. Prolific ball-getter who always uses it when in possession. Smart decision-maker and pin-point kicking skills. Strong mark for his size and reliable in the clinches. |
21.Ben Rowe On-baller Club stalwart who has won multiple Reserves B&Fs. Ever-reliable ball-winner who is amongst the best most weeks. Fitness trainer who runs all day and whose work ethic on the field is matched only by his devotion. |
Another member of the core group of the U/16 premiership who have come through the ranks and now establishing themselves as senior players. Spent time on Geelong Falcons' list where he improved dramatically. Regular fixture now in the senior team where he uses his great pace and raking left foot to great effect. Good mark for his size and one of the club's best kicks into the forward 50.

23.Liam Rock
On-baller
Came across to West in 2009 after starring in the Bellarine league for a couple of seasons with Ocean Grove. Slipped into the GFL with ease and was runner-up in club Best & Fairest in first year. Prolific ball winner in the centre and smart user who is consistently clearing packs and stoppages. Lightninig hands and accurate by foot. Fast becoming one of the club's on-field leaders.

24.Ben Ricardo
On-baller/Half forward
Recruited from Ocean Grove and has plenty of finals experience under his belt. Ben is predominantly a midfielder, however can play roles either as a forward or defender. Attacks the ball with ferocity and conviction and adds another dimension to the clubs growing list of midfielders. Will undoubtedly be a consistent performer this year for the Roosters.

25.Brent Morrow
CHB
Younger brother of Adam, Brent has previously played a handful of games for the Roosters whilst playeing VFL. He was recruited from Werribee and looks destined to play majority of his football in a defensive role, however he will also be utilised up forward. Brent is a strong player with a very good work ethic and has a never-say- die attitude. Already has made an impact in the early start to this season.

26.Daniel Armstrong
Full Fwd
Strong fwd who came across to the club from Moddawarre this season and prior to that from the Ballarat league. Big forward that can cause a few hassles for opposition backs with his sizeable frame and strong attack on the footy. When he plays in front he is difficult to stop on the lead and is capable of kicking regular bags of goals.

27.Leye Meleisea
On-baller
Was recruited from Tasmania where he represented the state at Under 18 level. Another player who has completed a solid pre season. Can be best described as relentless. He is a hard working mid- fielder who can also play as an attacking defender. Tackling is one of his greatest strengths and opponents have already felt the wrath of a Meleisea tackle. Also a very skilfull players who has fitted in well since crossing over from Bass Strait.

28.Corey Walter
Fwd Pocket/On-baller
Also recruited from Ocean Grove, Corey is a very polished player with very good skills. Has the ability to kick multiple goals as a small forward and when playing through the midfield will be a valuable asset with his delivery into the forward line. Another promising youngster with an exciting future ahead of him. Has had a very good pre season.

29.Shane Jack
Half Fwd/Half Back
Experienced veteran who will chalk up his 100th appearance this year. Had played over 50 VFL games with Werribee when recruited and has since become one of the club's stand-out players in the past decade. A strong over- head mark, extra reliable shot at goal and excellent decision maker around the field. Dangerous in front of goals but also a reliable avenue out of defence when in the backline.

30.Daniel Lee
Fwd Pocket/Half Fwd
Sharp-shooting forward who spent a couple of years with the Reserves before leaving and then re-joining the club. Has had a big pre-season and should push for a berth alongside Saunders in the re-jigged forward line.

31.Tim Wight
On-baller/Fwd Pocket
Tim has been a product of the Juniors and has played at the Club from Under 9’s. A very clean and skilfull player and his versatility makes him a very good prospect for the future. A B & F winner at under 18 level and has already tasted senior football experience. He has acquitted himself very well. Not only determined, he is also aggressive at every contest.

32.Doug Scott

Half-back/CHB
Methodical and decisive are two words that come to mind when describing the new playing coach. Drafted to Hawthorn and spent a couple of years at Box Hill before nailing down CHB at Newtown and then returning to the MPNFL. Experience and poise will be priceless in the Roosters' backline.

33.Damien Dwyer
On-baller
One of the Roosters' most reliable Reserves' players for the past decade. Has won five club Best & Fairests in the 2nds, played 200 games and has an enourmous engine and renowned work ethic. Always amongst the best players and always leaves nothing in the tank.

34.Andrew Walsh
Ruck
Recruited from Lilydale and has also played at SANFL level with Central Districts. Will be a valuable asset to assist Michael Stewart in the Ruck Department. Andrew is renowned as a very good tap ruckman and is also very versatile for his size and should cause some opposition clubs headaches with his aggression surprising pace across the turf.

35.Aaron Connoley

Another of the brigade who will be looking to pin down a spot in the senior line-up this season after some outstanding junior years behind him. A good decision maker and strong in the air, his fitness has improved and should be ready to step up.

36.Luke Sharry

Full Back
One of the club's all-time great players. A teriffic leader both on and off the field who has been one of the GFL's premier defenders for the past few seasons. Sure hands in the air and as courageous as you could get. One of the GFL's most respected skippers.

37.Josh DeGrandi
Half back/Ruck
Is an emerging youngster in his first year of senior footy, coming up from the GWSP U18's last year. Reasonably tall and very athletic youngster with a great leap and running skills. Has been playing down back and in recent times having a few runs in the ruck. Still learning the game but is showing some encouraging signs and if he continues to improve at the rate he is, senior selection is not out of the question.

Recruited from Bell Post Hill as a clever half-forward, he is entering his third season at the club. Has a bag of tricks and is a reliable goal scorer and smooth kick in looking for options in the forward line. Can also pinch hit in the middle when some muscle is needed.

Another product of the junior system who has been a reliable defender and in recent seasons has given the seniors great service off half back. Courageous and hard at the footy, he has improved kicking and can kick goals also when moved forward.

Returns to his home club after several seasons at Anglesea . Father is a Geelong West legend and Nick has given some fine service in the backline where he combines running straight lines with big, clearing kicks.

Stand out junior player who made his senior debut at just 16 when he kicked four goals against South Barwon. Is now in peak fitness and ready to nail down his senior spot. Reads the play well and a reliable goalkicker when in front of the sticks. Great courage and good to watch in the clinches.

Another emerging youngster in his first year of senior footy, coming up from the GWSP U18's last year. Has quite a bit of talent as a half forward and onballer. Is a natural footballer with good skills particularly with decision making. Is very composed and uses the ball well and will hopefully be a future senior player for the club

Another youngster in his first year of senior footy, coming up from the GWSP U18's last year. Half fwd/back who is a hard at it, determined player with a good running capacity. If he continues to work hard on all facets of the game he will give the club great service.

48.Mitch Wight
Half-Back
Like his twin brother, Mitch has also spent half of his life at Geelong West-St Peters. Courageous defender, Mitch has also been known to go forward and kick goals when required. A real swingman, he is very versatile which is a valuable asset to have in your repertoire. Mitch has suffered some injury problems over the last 12 months but he is itching to get back out there and amongst it.

Former under 18 B & F winner who has returned to the club after a lengthy absence and it is great to see him back playing for the Roosters. Will spend most of his time in defence and should be able to use his height and pace to advantage. Don’t be surprised if we also see him in a cameo role up forward.

Comes to the club crossing from Bell Park from last year which was his first year of footy since arriving from New Zealand. Still learning the game, he is working on his skills and decision making but has improved quite a lot since commencing pre-season. He is very hard at it running type, is determined and can shut down his opponent. Consistent performer to date and will continue to improve.

52.Rhys Lahrmann

Another youngster in his first year of senior footy, coming up from the GWSP U18's last year. Is a crumbing fwd with good speed. Is very determined and works hard when on the ground. Improving each week after a solid pre-season.

55.Stewie Lyons
On-baller
Immensley fit and strong, Lyons has been a fixture at the club on and off for the past six or seven years and is set to become an important part of the Reserves structure this year. A bullocking on-baller who runs straight lines and is as hard as they come. Will play his 50th game this year.

Comes to the club after a couple of years off, coming from East Geelong and prior to that South Barwon. Is a key position defender who would be one of the fittest guys on our list. He also looks after the strength and conditioning of the playing group from his expertise in the fitness field. Is a strong defender that can keeps his oppenents at bay. He is quite quick for his size & has good closing speed.
